CAI path 189

From Gramolazzo to Poggio Baldozzana

The path branches off from the state road which continues towards Minucciano, immediately after leaving the town of Gramolazzo.
From the beginning of the path to the Foogli Rifogliola, the route takes place first in the wide Serchio valley floor, then in the undulating Mandria area, for chestnut groves. Once crossed the carriage road to Rifogliola, go up decidedly along the marked buttress NE of the Poggio di Baldozzana, resting mostly on the side of the right side, through the hornbeam and then beech woods, finally through a large steep meadow at the northern Spallone del Poggio (the Alpe di Ugliano), where you join the path 181, coming from Pieve S. Lorenzo and Ugliancaldo and directed to the Capradossa ridge and the mouth of Giovo. The place is really beautiful and widely panoramic.
